Time for a reset!

I saw a random post recently on instagram by someone called @stephenclarke82 saying that six months ago he went cold turkey on screen time in the evenings with profound results! In his words, he made the conscious choice to shift his evening activities from 'passive programming' to 'active programming'. He found the switch profound. He states that "passive programming leaves us at the mercy of others’ intentions, absorbing whatever is thrown at us without discernment. In contrast, active programming involves deliberate choice in what we expose our subconscious to, empowering us to shape our reality in alignment with our true desires, values and the vision we hold for our life". Stephen says that in consciously steering his own choices, emotions and actions, he has noticed benefits such as;

1. Presence and Awareness; becoming more present and aware of his own feelings, relationships, body cues, and energy levels.

2. Clarity and Vision; gaining greater clarity and insight around goals and direction, and the necessary steps needed to achieve them.

3. Discomfort; No screens meant facing reality head-on, without the option to escape or numb. This confrontation, though uncomfortable, was liberating and allowed him to process and move through challenges more quickly.

4. Co-creation; he used his time in the evenings to write, create and successfully develop his business.

That all sounds great to me! I am inspired to follow his lead and do the same! I am certain I have wasted years of my life in front of screens already, and with more years of life probably behind me than in front of me these days, it's time to make the rest of it count! Every day, and every moment really, is a chance to start again and create ourselves anew. I'm starting tomorrow, April 1st. Less trash in the evenings, more reading, more reflecting, more creating. It's time to regroup, reset, make change, and be a little bit uncomfortable! Wish me luck! Let me know if you are inspired to reset a particular area of your life too!
